3 ARCTIC FOXES JOIN THE ZOO FAMILY

arcticfoxes

The Staten Island Zoo welcomed three Arctic foxes to its family, three young females all born in Mid-April, although not part of the same litter.
Zoo animal keepers quickly named them Idina, Elsa and Anna – three characters from the Disney movie, “Frozen.”

The Arctic fox lives in some of the most frigid extremes on the planet.
While it is commonly assumed that Arctic foxes are nearly pure white, there are actually two races of Arctic fox: white and the blue.
The white “morph” is native to the polar regions of the Arctic and the blue “morph” spends its time in the southern ends of the Arctic.
See them in the Nursery.
