CAR OR SCHOOL BUS:

Via the Verrazano Narrows Bridge:

Follow I-278 West to the Slosson Avenue exit. Turn right onto Slosson. Proceed to Martling Avenue. Turn right and continue to Clove Road. The Zoo’s entrance will be ahead of you. Free parking is on your right.

Via the Bayonne Bridge:

Follow Route 440 South to I-278. Proceed east on I-278 to the Slosson Avenue exit. Turn left onto Slosson. Proceed to Martling Avenue. Turn right and continue to Clove Road. The Zoo’s entrance will be ahead of you.

Via the Goethals Bridge:

Follow I-278 East to the Slosson Avenue exit. Turn left onto Slosson. Proceed to Martling Avenue. Turn right and continue to Clove Road. The Zoo’s entrance will be ahead of you.

Via the Outerbridge Crossing:

Follow Route 440 North to I-278. Proceed east on I-278 to the Slosson Avenue exit. Turn left onto Slosson. Proceed to Martling Avenue. Turn right and continue to Clove Road. The Zoo’s entrance will be ahead of you.

PARKING:

The Zoo’s free parking lot is located at the corner of Martling Avenue and Clove Road. Street parking is also available on Broadway.

BUS

From Brooklyn:

Take the S-53 bus which originates in Bay Ridge at 86th Street and 4th Avenue (near the BMT subway) exit at the Broadway/Clove Road stop. Walk to the Clove Road entrance.

FERRY

From Staten Island Ferry:

Take the S-48 bus at the Ferry Terminal on Staten Island. Exit at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Clove Road. Turn left on Clove Road and walk 4 1/2 blocks to the Zoo entrance.

ZOO CAFE:

The Zoo Café is located on grounds and has a variety of food and drinks. We offer snacks such as pretzels and popcorn, or meals like hamburgers, hotdogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. We also offer vegetarian-friendly options including veggie burgers, plant-based chicken nuggets, and salads. You can also treat yourself to an ice cream or candy bar! There is plenty of seating to enjoy your food inside to café if you chose.

PICNIC TABLES

You are welcome to bring your own food and snacks to enjoy during your Zoo visit. There are picnic tables under our covered pavilion, and outside tables and benches, for when you need a moment to rest and refuel. There are also water refilling stations throughout the Zoo, bring a water bottle with you!

KULTURECITY

For guests who have sensory processing needs, The Staten Island Zoo has partnered with KultureCity to improve our ability to assist and accommodate guests with sensory needs. Our objective is to provide an inclusive and seamless experience for all guests for all events. We strive to raise awareness of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with sensory processing disorders by supplying our Team Members with continuous training and by ofering the resources and accommodations below to our guests.

The Zoo has developed visitor’s guides in order to help parents and teachers prepare children for a trip to the Zoo. They are ofered in three diferent levels, with diferentiated language, vocabulary, and concepts. They are available in PDF form to be used as handouts and as PowerPoints to present to a group.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

For their safety, please make sure all children are supervised. Any child under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
For your own safety and the safety of other visitors and our animals, please do not bring any of the following into the Zoo: rollerblades, rollerskates, skateboards, bikes, scooters, balloons, whistles, balls, frisbees or other throwing games, alcohol or illegal substances.
For your own safety and the safety of our animals, please do not feed any of our animals, unless clearly specified, as they are on specific diets.
For your own safety and the safety of our animals, please do not enter any animal enclosure or ‘staff only’ areas without being accompanied by one of the Zoo’s crew members.
For your own safety and the safety of others, you are required to follow any other conditions or instructions displayed in the Zoo or communicated by Zoo staff.
The Staten Island Zoo is a smoke-free environment, and smoking is not permitted on Zoo grounds.
Fully trained and vaccinated guide dogs are welcome to accompany their owners on the condition that the guide dogs remain in a full harness at all times. You will be asked to provide evidence of the guide dog’s full vaccinations at the Zoo’s admissions gate.
Visitors must obtain consent of The Staten Island Zoo before conducting any commercial or charity activity. Professional (including commercial) photography and filming, including all media and commercial organizations, is only permitted by prior arrangement with our External Afairs team.
The Zoo retains the right to deny access and/or remove visitors who fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions. This decision is at the discretion of the Staten Island Zoo.
The Staten Island Zoo will make every effort to reduce the risk for all visitors, and give information on safe practices. No liability for loss, injury or damage will be accepted.
